Timescale

From Chippy Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Timescale is the rate that time flows in Chippy stages, which affects how quickly they play relative to the player's concept of time.

By default, this value is at 1. However, sudden moments of slowness occur as a means of cosmetic feedback, if the player takes damage, and via the Slowmo item.

In time-attack stages, the timer counts up at a constant rate irrelevant to timescale, but in endless stages, the timer's time can speed up or slow down and is thus identical to the "stagetime".

The only official way to speed up the flow of time is with the Fast-Forward item, which only appears in Crossfire and the Credits.

Timebrain has a unique spin on timescale: time flows only as quickly as the player moves.
