Redux

The Redux update is a major update to Chippy that took place on March 23rd 2022. It focuses on repolished graphics and accessibility to new players.

The following changes are prominent in the update:

• Bosses' attack patterns and powerup drops have been reworked, for improved balance and an overall drop in difficulty.
• The player starts each stage with a Shield in normal difficulty.
• Easy and Nightmare difficulties were released to the main menu.
• Prospector's forms were completely overhauled.
• The Dash item was converted from a forward boost to a small zip, a short distance either forwards or backwards.
• The Convert item's method of grabbing Damage pickups was changed: it used to create a small burst that transformed bullets into floating pickups, but now it temporarily allows the player to turn any bullets they touch into rapidly-attracted pickups.
• The Barrage and Broadside items are present as additional attacks the player can use in certain stages.
• Containers pause their timers whenever they are shot, to prevent them from expiring after the player reached them.
